Dinosaur Museum Altmühltal

The Dinosaur Museum Altmühltal is one of the most exciting destinations for families, school classes and everyone who is interested in the development of our planet and wants to experience it up close. Here you walk along an approximately 1.5-kilometer-long forest path, which seems to be enchanted, through 400 million years of the earth's history. You will encounter over 70 lifelike replicas of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, some of which are so large that they reach the tops of trees.
The real skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex is on display in the museum hall: At nearly ten meters long, "Rocky" was not even fully grown, making it the only teenage T.rex found to date!  Other highlights of the museum are "Dracula" - probably the largest and heaviest pterosaur ever found, and an original fossil of the ancient bird Archaeopteryx.
Knowledge is also imparted in the Dinosaur Museum through active experience. You can act as a paleontologist yourself and, for example, uncover fossils and then take them home as souvenirs. Hands-on stations invite visitors to compare the ideas of how big, how fast or how strong the dinosaurs were with their own abilities. Whether at the race or at the touch station - the knowledge about the time from the Palaeozoic era to today grows with every area you experience in the Dinosaur Museum.
