Originally the Nordpark was built for the propaganda exhibition "Creative People" of the National Socialists in 1937. On a total area of 36 hectares, the green area now serves pure relaxation purposes. Spacious green areas, accurately planted flower beds and impressive water features characterise the picture. Particularly vivid is the large fountain in combination with the 170-metre-long water basin and the many individual water jets, which represents a large arc in the overall view.
The Nordpark owes its popularity primarily to its favourable location, as not only the people of Düsseldorf themselves as well as tourists from all over the world like to come here to linger, but also fair visitors who like to spend a quiet break under the shady trees.
The Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum located in the park presents a diverse underwater world.
