Schluchsee

The Schluchsee in the southern Black Forest lies between 930 and 1300 meters above sea level in the immediate vicinity of the spa of the same name. It is not only the largest lake in the Black Forest, but also one of the cleanest bathing lakes in Germany and a center for water sports. In addition, the former glacial lake and the surrounding region offer its visitors a wide range of leisure activities. While on hot summer days the lake invites you to cool off on long beaches, idyllic lake tours and fantastic cycling and hiking tours around the lake and through breathtaking forests and landscapes with fascinating views, the region also has a lot to offer in the cold season. Enjoy the snow-covered winter landscape for example during an 18-kilometer-long hike or a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride around the frozen lake or challenge yourself to cross-country skiing on the demanding Schluchsee Spur!
Because of its easily accessible shores, unlike the Titisee, the lake is also a popular destination for divers and sailors.
