Philosopher's Path Heidelberg

The Heidelberg Philosophers' Path is located on the sunny slope of the Heiligenberg. Once upon a time, scholars used to walk here in their stiff eardrums when they had to order their thoughts or philosophized about the meaning of being.
But even those who do not want to think about the meaning of life will get their money's worth on the Philosophers' Path. Nowhere else is it possible to experience such a unique view of Heidelberg and enjoy the triad of the old town, the river and the mountains. The Philosophers' Path benefits from its unique location, as it is one of the warmest places in Germany. In the mild climate, which is strongly reminiscent of Tuscany, many great plants thrive. Among them are exotic plants such as Japanese wool mistletoe and American cypress, Spanish broom and Portuguese cherry, lemon and pomegranate, bamboo, palm trees and pines. But also the native plants benefit from the climate and bloom weeks earlier than down in the valley.
Those who want to experience the Philosophers' Way in all its splendor should use the approximately 4 km long circular path starting at the Old Bridge over the Schlangenweg up to the Philosophers' Way up to the oldtown. Many rondel-like bricked seating areas invite you to rest and relax your calves. At the same time, you can enjoy the great view here and do something good for your eyes and soul.
