Hetjens - German Ceramics Museum

In the HETJENS - German ceramics museum, ceramics dating back 8,000 years are on the trail of world cultures. The museum was founded in 1909 on the estate of the ceramics collector Laurenz Heinrich Hetjens (1830-1906). This original collection, which was primarily made of Rhenish stoneware, was expanded from steel from all continents and creative periods.
In the Palais Nesselrode in the heart of Dusseldorf, old, pre-Columbian and Islamic ceramics, faience and majolica, contemporary art ceramics and a comprehensive collection of precious porcelain await your visit. A special view is the two-meter high Islamic tile dome from Pakistan.
In the beautiful castle "Jägerhof", now the Goethe Museum, you will find, besides the Ernst Schneider Collection, precious Meissen porcelain, which is also part of the HETJENS collection.
