Hansestadt Lüneburg

Lüneburg is a historic city in Lower Saxony, Germany, known for its well-preserved old town and saline springs. The city is located about 50 kilometers southeast of Hamburg and has a population of about 77,000 people.

The old town of Lüneburg is characterized by its many half-timbered houses and narrow streets and exudes a special atmosphere. Among the most famous sights are the historic water district, the Lüneburg water tower and the town hall. The city is also home to several churches, including the impressive St. John's Church and St. Michael's Church.

Lüneburg also offers numerous recreational opportunities, such as the Kurpark, where you can relax and take a walk, as well as cycling and hiking trails along the Ilmenau River and through the surrounding countryside. The city is also a popular destination for students, as it is home to one of the oldest universities in Germany, the Leuphana University of Lüneburg.
