Old Town - "The longest Bar in the world"

Düsseldorf's Old Town is particularly popular among night owls and party people - because it is known to have the longest bar in the world. Of course, this saying is only meant symbolically - but the historical city centre has really earned the name! About 250 pubs, bars, clubs and rustic breweries can be found here on half a square kilometre. If you were to line up all the counters, you would have the "longest bar in the world". In addition, there are of course lounges and restaurants in an upscale ambience.
But the old town also has a lot to offer historically - some of the houses and hotels still date back to the city's founding period in 1288. At the same time, some of the city's numerous art and cultural institutions are located here, such as the Film Museum and the Museum Kunstpalast. During the day the narrow alleys invite you to go on a shopping trip.

The Düsseldorf Radschläger "cartwheel" is considered the oldest tradition of the Rhine metropolis. It has become the symbol and landmark of the city. On a stroll through the streets, you will come across them again and again on closer inspection - unfortunately only as works of art in the form of sculptures, on gully covers and souvenirs, and not as the long ago "för eene Penning" (for a penny) as cartwheeling boys in front of pedestrians.
Two particularly noteworthy testimonies to this custom can be found directly in the old town: the copper cartwheeler sculpture in front of the Uerige brewery bar the cartwheeler fountain on Burgplatz.
