The monumental Panorama THE WALL by the artist Yadegar Asisi at Checkpoint Charlie presents the Berlin Wall on a fictitious autumn day in the 1980s. From the vantage point of a 4-metre high visitors´ platform, immerse yourself in the panorama installation (as high as a house). As the original Wall, you are looking from Kreuzberg to Mitte. The scenes and stories in the Panorama focus on people and their everyday life - moving house, graffiti painters, people at a snack bar or drunks coming out of a corner pub. Very much in evidence are the borders guards in their watchtowers.
An accompanying exhibition with 80 private photos provides an introduction into the period of the division and the fall of the Berlin Wall. In addition, picture boards relate the biography of the artist and his approach in creating the panorama DIE MAUER (the Berlin Wall).
