The Stadthaus Leipzig has been the seat of the Leipzig city administration for more than a century. Located directly on Burgplatz and in the immediate vicinity of the New Town Hall, the irregular, 5-sided building has been impressive since its completion in 1912. Both buildings are separated by Lotterstraße, but connected by the so-called "Beamtenlaufbahn" - a two-storey bridge construction. Similar to the town hall, the Stadthaus is built in the style of historicism, but its design is much more restrained.
