Berlin Central Station was opened on 26.05.2006 and since then it is the most important passenger station in Berlin. It is located in the district of Moabit, which is part of the Mitte district and is open around the clock. Originally, the Lehrter Bahnhof and later the Lehrter Stadtbahnhof stood on the site. The main station is barrier-free due to several passenger elevators, as well as the buses, suburban trains and subways.
