The beautiful old town of Mülheim an der Ruhr is not far from the city center. Here is also the historic city center. Half-timbered and brick houses, narrow streets and sprawling gardens form the core of the old town. There is a cozy and quiet atmosphere in the city, almost like in a village.
You can stroll wonderfully through the winding streets with the historic half-timbered houses. The old town was already settled in 6-7. century. The Petrikirche stands on the former royal court, which is definitely worth a visit. On the edge of the old town is the 200-year-old cemetery, which is also worth a visit.
You can take a break in one of the quaint pubs or good traditional restaurants. During the Christmas season, the city turns into a fairytale winter city.
