Situated in the middle of the Bexbach flower garden, the Hindenburg Tower with its viewing platform at a height of 40 metres is a popular destination for excursions. On a clear day, the breathtaking panoramic view extends as far as the Rhine plain and the Vosges mountains! The tower was originally inaugurated in 1934 as a memorial to the fallen of the First World War and named after the President of the Reich, Paul von Hindenburg, who died during the construction period. Today it is considered a symbol for peace. The idyllic flower garden around it invites you to linger and pause for a moment.
The tower also houses the Saarland Mining Museum. The extensive exhibition mine shows the importance of Saarland mining and its changes over the centuries.
