Gestapo camp memorial Neue Bremm

The barracks camp on Neue Bremm was used by the Gestapo as an "extended police prison" because of the overcrowding of the prisons from 1943 to 1944. Since it was not operated by the SS, it is not formally a concentration camp.
A total of 20,000 people were interned on the grounds secured by barbed wire and watchtowers. They were so-called work education prisoners, political prisoners, prisoners of transport before "transfer" to a concentration camp, prisoners of war and those persecuted by the Nazis on "racial" grounds.
The memorial respectfully commemorates the victims of these terrible crimes and provides important political education.
