Museum Brandhorst

Museum Brandhorst is dedicated to contemporary art. Since opening in 2009, the museum has established itself as one of the central venues for art of the present day in Germany. Behind the spectacular facade of 36,000 ceramic rods, visitors from all over the world can explore masterpieces of art from the 1960s to the present.
The museum houses by far the largest collection of works by Andy Warhol in Europe. It is also unique internationally for its focus on Cy Twombly’s oeuvre. His monumental “Lepanto” cycle (2001) is on permanent display in a room that was designed especially according to the artist’s wishes.
