Botanical Garden

The new botanical garden - since 2012 called Loki-Schmidt-Garden - belongs since 1919 to the University of Hamburg. Due to a shortage of space it was transferred to its current location in Klein-Flottbek and reopened in 1979. The premises are categorized in three sections - systematic garden, geographical garden and plant & man - and address among other issues the biology & ecology of plants as well as contemporary plant usage. The entry is free.

The Tropical Greenhouses at Dammtor Station will be closed for extensive renovation over the next few years.

January and February 09:00am to 04:00pm
March 1 - March 25 09:00am to 05:00pm
26 March - 30 April 09:00am to 07:00pm
May - August 09:00am to 08:00pm
September 09:00am to 07:00pm
October 1 - October 29 09:00am to 06:00pm
30 October - 30 December 09:00am to 04:00pm

(except 24.12 and 31.12 and in case of icy weather).

* Admission until 30 minutes before closing.

The parking lot closes 15 minutes after the garden closes.

Admission is free.
