Soon after the opening of the railway station around 1838, the Potsdamer Platz developed to be one of the busiest squares in Europe - eventually resulting in the erection of Berlin's first traffic light.
The debis-Haus designed by Renzo Piano, the Kollhoff-Tower and the Bahn-Tower shape the distinctive edificial ensemble. Situated around the Potsdamer Platz are the Sony Centre with the IMAX cinema, the "Movie Museum" and the "Boulevard of the Stars".
