The walkway of the Berlin Promenade runs along the banks of the Saar. The promenade was built in 1960 on the site of the old promenade footbridge between the Wilhelm Heinrich Bridge and today's Congresshalle and was named after the Berlin Wall in 1961. The promenade is 600 metres long and has the shape of a bridge-like catwalk. Along the promenade there are many shops and the gastronomic offer is also enormous. Thus the pier is a popular destination, especially in the evening, to end the day with a pleasant dinner or drink in one of the beautiful restaurants or bars with a view of the Saar. But also during the day it invites you to take a walk, go shopping and linger.
In recent years, the promenade has been renovated as part of the "Stadtmitte am Fluss" project.
