Karaoke at Mauerpark on Sunday afternoon

On Sunday afternoon, numerous Berliners and tourists trundle into the amphitheater at Mauerpark to sit comfortably in the sun and watch the brave ones who dare to sing their hearts out in the center via a karaoke machine. Wall path around former West Berlin

The Berlin Wall Trail leads all around the old West Berlin. It marks the course of the former border fortifications of the GDR to West Berlin and leads through pretty forests, across picturesque fields and meadows, along tranquil canals and lakes and, of course, right through the center of the "new" Berlin. The route, which is 160 km long in total, can be ideally explored in several small stages on foot or by bike. Even if the individual sections are not very long, you should still plan enough time for your tour because of the many memorials and places of remembrance.

Viktoriapark and waterfall in Kreuzberg

The Viktoriapark, located in the middle of the Kreuzberg district, was the only green soul in the district for a long time. It was created in 1888 and its name still commemorates the English wife of Emperor Frederick III, Victoria.
However, the park is not laid out in the British style, as one might expect. A wild waterfall in the middle of a rocky mountain scenery stands with its idyll seemingly in complete contrast to the hectic city life and invites to a romantic walk. On the top stands today the national monument by Schinkel as a symbol of the victory over Napoleon.
