The Anger, located between the main railway station and the cathedral, is both a central square and a main shopping street. While from the 14th to the 17th century it was only available to woad traders, it was the scene of the bourgeois revolution in 1848. Over the years, it has once again developed into a trading centre and now offers something for every taste. Culinary delights are not missed out either, thanks to the various restaurants and cafés. Especially worth seeing are the historic department store "Anger 1", which is still open today, and the Angerbrunnen. As the Anger is traffic-calmed, it can be explored in a relaxed manner.
