Böttcherstraße

Located in the heart of Bremen, Böttcherstraße, which connects Bremer Markt with the River Weser, impresses with its expressionist brick architecture.
In 1923-1931, the artist and architect Bernhard Hoetger built the ensemble of unique buildings commissioned by the coffee manufacturer Ludwig Roselius, which made Böttcherstraße a popular attraction for visitors and earned them the reputation of being the secret main street in Bremen.
A particularly worth seeing building in the Böttcherstraße is the "House of the Glockenspiel" whose 30 bells from Meissen porcelain regularly entertain the visitors of the Böttcherstraße musically and which also has 10 carved rotating wooden panels, which remind of famous sailors.
Many small shops and workshops of artisans line up the Böttcherstraße and make a stroll through this unique street to a very special experience.
