The chain bridge is the name of a pedestrian bridge in Nuremberg. It crosses the Pegnitz and is considered the oldest remaining iron chain bridge in continental Europe. The 68 metre long crossing is located directly at the old town outflow of the Pegnitz between the Hallertor and the Kreuzgasse and is used exclusively for pedestrian crossings.
The bridge is regarded as a technical-historical monument and belongs to Nuremberg's Historical Mile, a tour through the medieval old town, which leads around the most important historical sights of the city.
