Embark on a once in a lifetime journey through Dresden’s past and experience the town as a 360° panorama, only a short distance away from the renowned Großer Garten.
Displayed in a former gasometer, the 2,800 square metre panoramas of Yadegar Asisi appear extremely real and lively thanks to audio-visual effects in a 15-minute simulation of day and night as well as a 1:1 view from the 15-metre-high visitor tower. In a regularly changing intervals over the year the Panometer Dresden shows the unique 360° panorama DRESDEN 1945 or BAROQUE DRESDEN.
The current panorama DRESDEN 1945 takes you on a thought-provoking journey through time to the Elbe metropolis immediately after the bombardments of 1945 and offers you a panoramic view from the Dresden Town Hall tower of the destruction of the city as it was almost 75 years ago.
From autumn 2019 at the earliest, you will travel back in time to Dresden's most glorious epoch between 1695 and 1760 in the panorama BAROQUE DRESDEN. In the artistic momentary snapshot by Yadegar Asisi, you will immerse yourself in the Saxon royal city at the time of August the Strong and get to know the everyday life of the citizens, merchants, Elbe barge towers, handmaids and craftsmen in the city.
Each visit is rounded off with an innovative accompanying exhibition and a 20-minute documentary.
