Fehmarns Top Beaches

South Beach

The south beach is certainly the most popular beach on Fehmarn. As the name suggests, it is located in the south of the island near Burgtief. The three-kilometer-long and up to 60-meter-wide sandy beach is made for families. The water is crystal clear and the access to the Baltic Sea is beautifully shallow - so it's great for water rats and sandcastle architects!
Sun-seekers will definitely get their money's worth here while letting the fine sand caress their feet. The beach chairs provide coziness while reading, dozing or sipping cocktails. The nearby 360 degree beach bar provides them with delicious drinks - on the beach or with a magnificent all-round view on the panoramic terrace!

Gollendorf Beach

If you are looking for action on the beach, Gollendorf beach is the place to be. The conditions are ideal for sailing, surfing, kiteboarding and SUP enthusiasts, and for beginners and professionals alike! Whoever wants to plunges into the waves privately or within the framework of offered water sports courses. Due to the shallow water depth, the water warms up quickly in summer and allows for extensive swimming and water sports fun.

Bojendorf Beach

The beach in Bojendorf is quiet, natural and offers a variety of uses with its three sections. The first large section offers couples and families enough space to swim, romp around collecting shells and relax. A beach volleyball court provides activity on a lazy beach day.
Sun-seeking nudists will find a quiet spot in a separate area, and the third beach section guarantees that man's best friend will also get his money's worth. Those who don't want to do without their faithful four-legged friend on vacation will find enough space for him to romp and swim here.

Katharinenhof Beach

The beach in the rocky east of the island is a true oasis. The sea meets here a stony beach and a few meters behind it immediately a high rock face. The natural panorama can be enjoyed here in its dreamlike remoteness and idyll. And the best: the picturesque steep shore is never crowded! Fallen tree trunks make a wonderful resting place after during an extended walk!

Flügger Beach

There are two program points to work through on an excursion to Flügger Strand: A hike to the lighthouse located south of the beach, which can be climbed and provides a fantastic view of the surrounding area, and the walk to the Jimi Hendrix memorial stone located to the north. In fact, the musician gave the last concert before his death at Love and Peace Festival on the island. But don't worry, between the two tours you can ideally relax on the beach between wide dunes, sand and gravel.

Gold Beach

Water sports enthusiasts are in the right place here. The water slopes very shallowly and only gets deep after a few hundred meters. The wide dune landscape and the long sandy beach are a true windsurfing paradise.
The shallow access to the water also allows parents with smaller children to spend relaxing hours by the sea. The nearby playground at the campsite offers even more space to play and romp.
