The Jenisch House, the former estate of Hamburg Senator Martin Johan Jenisch, is located directly on the banks of the Elbe River, in one of the most beautiful Hamburg landscape parks. Visitors can explore the representative living spaces with stucco, parquet floors, furniture, paintings, and sculptures, as well as the top floor, where special exhibitions on art and architecture are now displayed. In addition, there are extensive park grounds with a magnificent view over the river and ships.
The highlight of the museum's year is the annual summer festival, which takes place every first Sunday in September. The program mainly offers attractive events for children and families. Continuing the tradition of the musical salon established during Senator Jenisch's lifetime, there is a chamber music series in the White Hall of the Jenisch House. During the winter months, the Jenisch House features puppet theater for the whole family.
