In 1999 the Oberhausen State Garden Show took place on the site of the former mine and coking plant in Osterfeld. The 26 hectare OLGA Park was built for this occasion. A big flower festival in 17 themed gardens was waiting for the visitors.
Today the extensive area is a public green area and is very popular. Many elements of the State Garden Show are still preserved today. With its bridge structures, tree harps and industrial flower fields, the park is very popular as a recreation area. The OLGA is also well suited as a family excursion destination. The children can look forward to the two large playgrounds. There are also many trend sports options available to young people.
The park is in the direct vicinity of the CentrO and Gasometer Oberhausen. If you want to see everything from above, you have to climb the 16 meter high observation tower in the southwestern part of the park.
