Since 2003, the Panometer Leipzig - a former gas storage facility - has been known for its changing 32-metre-high 360° panoramas by Yadegar Asisi. After panoramas such as EVEREST, AMAZONIA, LEIPZIG 1813 or, most recently, TITANIC, the Berlin artist Yadegar Asisi recalls the beauty of nature in a typical Leipzig garden with his current circular painting "CAROLA’S GARDEN - A Return to Paradise" and makes the world of the microcosm tangible for the first time.
While the observer on the 15-metre-high visitor tower is shrinking to the size of an insect in the garden, the representatives of flora and fauna in the 3,500-square-metre panorama appear enormously large and as detailed as the normal human eye could never perceive. The visitor is surrounded by the hundredfold enlarged world around him and literally dives into this otherwise hidden scenery. A scenery that relativizes the view of the world and re-evaluates the beauty and uniqueness of life. In advance, an accompanying exhibition will show selected works by the artist from the period of approach to the theme.
Every panorama visit will be rounded off with an accompanying multimedia exhibition and a 20-minute making-of film at the end of the tour.
Since the beginning of 2020, the exhibition has also been supplemented with XXL insect models from the hand of designer Julia Stoess and with exciting 3D exhibits and multimedia installations by Yadegar Asisi.
