Federal Administrative Court

The Federal Administrative Court is located in the building of the former Reichsgericht building. This served from 1879 to 1945 as the highest court of the German Reich.
The pompous building from the late 19th century was built in the style of historicism and is based on the Italian Renaissance and the French Baroque. During attacks on the city during the Second World War, most of the building was destroyed, so that after the war it was rebuilt and reopened as a museum.
Following extensive restoration , the building has served as the seat of the Federal Administrative Court since 2002. The Reichsgerichtsmuseum (Imperial Court Museum), which is housed in part of the building, has selected exhibits commemorating the history of the Reichsgerichtsgebäude (Imperial Court Building).
